Accessibility Statement
Last updated: October 28, 2026
Many of the veterans we serve live with disabilities, so Veteran Compass is built to be usable by everyone. Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
What we do
- You can use the whole site with a keyboard, and a visible outline shows where you are. A “Skip to main content” link appears when you press Tab on any page.
- Pages use headings, landmarks, and labeled form fields so screen readers can navigate them.
- Text is large and high-contrast, and the layout adapts to phones, tablets, and zoomed screens.
- Animations are reduced if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Links say where they go, and links that leave the site open official sources.
- Crisis support links appear at the top of every page.
Known limits
We have tested the site ourselves, but it has not yet had a formal audit by an outside accessibility specialist, and we may have missed problems. Some linked documents and outside websites (such as VA.gov, state agencies, and partner sites) are not ours, so we cannot control their accessibility.
Tell us about a problem
If something on Veteran Compass is hard to use, please tell us what page it was on, what you were trying to do, and what assistive technology you use, if any. We will work to fix it and, where we can, help you get the information another way. Email veterancompassworldwide@gmail.com or use the feedback form.
