Estimate only

VA disability rating calculator

VA does not simply add your ratings together. It combines them in a set order, then rounds to the nearest 10 percent. Enter each rating below to see your combined rating and the monthly compensation the current VA table pays for it. Nothing you enter is saved or sent anywhere.

Step 1: Add each rated condition

Use the percentage on your VA decision letter. If a condition affects an arm or a leg, pick which one. Ratings on both arms or both legs get a bilateral factor, which the calculator applies for you.

Your ratings (0)

None added yet.

Step 2: Add your dependents

Veterans rated 30 percent or higher get extra monthly pay for dependents. These choices do not change your rating.

What this does not cover

  • This is an estimate. Only VA can decide your rating and your payment.
  • It does not include special monthly compensation, individual unemployability (TDIU), temporary 100 percent ratings, back pay, or offsets such as retirement pay or incarceration.
  • A 0 percent rating pays nothing but is still a service-connected rating, and it is not entered here.
  • Rates change each December. These match the VA table effective December 1, 2025. See the current VA rate table ↗.
  • The rating method follows VA's rules for combined ratings and the bilateral factor, 38 CFR 4.25 ↗ and 38 CFR 4.26 ↗.
