Nonprofit help

Veteran nonprofits

Nonprofit organizations that help veterans and military families. These are charities, not government benefits. We do not list organizations that we know charge veterans up front. Listings marked “Not yet confirmed” are ones where we are still confirming that services are free or that the group is a registered nonprofit, so ask the organization before you commit to anything. A listing is not an endorsement or a guarantee of help, so do your own research.

Never pay up front for help with your benefits

A real veteran service organization does not charge you to help with a VA claim or to find benefits you earned. Be careful of anyone who asks for money first, asks for your VA login, or asks you to sign over part of your benefits. If something feels wrong, stop and ask a trusted person.
